Luisa and Felipe Destination Wedding in Alentejo

Luisa and Felipe had known for a long time that their wedding was going to happen in Alentejo! They are a Brazilian couple from the beautiful Florianópolis.

Their love of Portugal and Portuguese culture drove them to wed in the great Alentejo! This region is an awesome place for a destination wedding, and Luisa and Felipe knew that all along. Luisa adores Alentejo! The simplicity that is found everywhere, from its people to its majestically vast landscapes. And everything about this wedding in Alentejo was planned to the last detail!
The day before the wedding I photographed the welcome dinner at Herdade do Esporão. This homestead is responsible for producing great wine and olive oil. They have been a fixture in winemaking for decades now. It is a place full of history. It has been established there since 1267! By that time, the Portuguese sailors hadn’t even reached Brazil! So the dinner was bound to be great. Everyone was in a great mood and you could feel the anticipation in the air!
This wedding in Alentejo took place in Pousada de Arraiolos. The wedding ceremony was in the church that exists in this inn. It has to be one of the most beautiful churches in Portugal. Covered in traditional Portuguese tiles, it was the perfect place to wed Luisa and Felipe! The love this couple has for Portugal was a common thread in this wedding. Luisa had her dress made by Portuguese seamstresses in Brazil. It was a beautiful dress, very romantic, with an antique look. The best part is that it was embroidered with typical Portuguese symbols, like the swallow and the heart of Viana.
So, in the greatness of Alentejo, Luisa and Felipe became a married couple! I love the light in Alentejo, its yellows and greens never cease to amaze me. These two were overjoyed and so serene.
Time for dinner! In the patio, near the orange trees, the decor was beautiful and sweet. Luisa and Felipe were having the Alentejo wedding of their dreams. It was a day full of emotion, elegance, partnership and, above all, love! Everyone had a blast and Luisa and Felipe were ecstatic!
As the night arrived the dancefloor became the place to be! So, under the stars in the impressive Alentejo, Luisa and Felipe danced the night away. And they crushed it! Literally. They danced so much that they broke the dance floor!
