This couple was madly in love!
Andy and Frede live in Switzerland. They got married in Frede’s country, Portugal. Andy’s family came all the way from Germany, where he is from, to celebrate this emotional same-sex wedding!
A same-sex wedding is just like any other wedding. The only difference is having two grooms on the top of the cake! But it wouldn’t be fair not to mention the struggle and prejudice that same-sex couples still face on our society.
The courage and love that these two men have was mentioned by their families over and over again that day. They know better than most how hard it is for LGBTQ people to have the same rights as everyone else. This alone made this wedding very emotional. This was a celebration of love and also freedom!
Andy and Frede were beaming with enthusiasm! They got ready together, helping each other out. They looked marvelous, full of confidence and incredibly happy.
This was their day and they made sure to look their best while having a ton of fun!
They entered the ceremony together and there waiting to perform the marriage were two of their friends! That’s when I knew I was going to need some tissues! Everyone in this ceremony was so touched by their love and courage. It was amazingly beautiful and tender!
Andy and Frede couldn’t stop smiling and caressing one another. Their complicity is evident! Probably more than a heterosexual couple, same-sex couples don’t take marriage for granted. They know the road was long and tumultuous. Once they are given the opportunity to wed, they do it with a bang! I knew this wedding was going to be a blast!
I wasn’t disappointed. When it came time to party, they made the most of it!
This is what I call a party! Everybody danced their hearts out! People were happy for Andy and Frede and everybody joined in their celebration of love, courage and freedom!
