Lisbon has a unique light and energy — and this engagement session was exactly that: simple, authentic, and full of life. Sarah, a wedding photographer based in the United States, came to Lisbon to experience and document this moment, something that has become increasingly common as most of my clients travel from abroad, especially from the US.
We started at Praça do Município, with its elegant architecture and neutral tones, perfect for a light and timeless beginning. From there, we moved to Terreiro do Paço and Cais das Colunas, where the scale of the city meets the river and the light begins to turn into that soft, golden glow Lisbon is known for.
We then wandered into Alfama, through narrow streets, traditional tiles, and doors full of character. It’s impossible not to feel the true essence of Lisbon here — everything flows naturally, without rush.
We finished at Miradouro das Portas do Sol, with an open view over the rooftops and a perfect sunset. A quiet ending, with soft light that transforms everything and leaves space for what matters most: their connection. At the very end, we crossed paths with the iconic Tram 28 — the perfect final touch, full of movement and unmistakably Lisbon.
If you’re thinking about doing an engagement session in Lisbon, this kind of route is ideal to capture the city’s essence and create natural, elegant, and meaningful images.
