This wedding was a true meeting of worlds — between old Lisbon and a contemporary love, without labels, lived with intensity and style. The couple, deeply in love Irish partners, chose to celebrate their love in the heart of Alfama, at one of the city’s most special venues: La Distillerie.
With views of the National Pantheon and wrapped in the city’s historic soul, the space blends the charm of the past with a modern, almost cinematic aesthetic. And it was exactly this duality that made this wedding so unique — the contrast between old and new, between classic romance and the freedom of a love without conventions.
The couple arrived in a vintage yellow car, which seemed perfectly chosen to match Lisbon’s iconic tram. A nearly poetic detail that fit perfectly with the backdrop of old streets and worn stones, where every corner whispers stories from times gone by.
La Distillerie has that rare gift: the ability to slow down time. Between walls filled with history, forgotten bottles, and 1950s cars, the space invites you into another narrative — one where love is free, beauty is in the details, and every celebration writes a new chapter.
The day was wonderfully organized by the talented team at Amor e Lima, who cared for every detail with love and sensitivity, making sure everything flowed perfectly and genuinely.
The cake, a delicious Pastel de Natal, brought sweetness and tradition that perfectly closed the day.
As a photographer, discovering places like this is a gift. The light was perfect, emotions ran high, and the aesthetics… a visual delight. I photographed this wedding both digitally and on film because I absolutely love grain, texture, and timelessness. Film has this amazing ability to capture the soul of things, with truth, with poetry.
If you’re dreaming of a modern wedding in Lisbon — or somewhere else full of history and soul — and want your photos to reflect more than appearances, maybe we’re the perfect match.
With love,
Adriana
