Meet Gabi and Gui!
Don’t they look absolutely in love and in awe of each other? These two lovebirds came from the other side of the Atlantic, from mighty Brazil. They decided that Portugal was the wedding destination of their choice. They kind of had their mind set on what type of celebration they wanted. They wanted to elope!
Yes, elope! That’s really a thing people do now. Sneak off to Portugal, to get married. Basically, a party just for two!
For some time they thought that wasn’t to be… One fine day, Gabi’s mother was accompanying her to wedding dress fittings and got overwhelmed with emotion. Seeing her mother so happy for her little girl, Gabi and Gui decided that eloping wasn’t an option!
Regardless of quitting their plans for an elopement, Gabi and Gui still wanted their wedding to be quite small, so only parents allowed. They hopped on a plane to Portugal to take part in the ceremony.
Gabi and Gui got ready for their big day separately, in the Villa Mira Longa, a typical Sintra chalet. It’s an exquisite bed and breakfast located in a hillside near Sintra’s center. The place is elegant, full of old-world charm and luxurious in its details. Here they had their first look!
Gabi was magnificent in a traditional lace dress. Gui looked bright and ready to go!
In the first look, you can clearly see how amazed they were with one another. Smiles don’t lie!
Once we completed the first look, we took off to the place where Gabi and Gui would soon become wife and husband, Palácio de Monserrate!
Palácio de Monserrate is a unique place in Portugal. Its mismatch architecture is what defines the odd beauty of the palace. It’s so romantic and whimsical.
There we were, a very small number of people, witnessing this important chapter in Gabi and Gui’s lives.
The celebrant for Gabi and Gui’s wedding really pushed the emotional button! She had beautiful and tender words for the couple. There, in the ruins of a chapel, in the great gardens of Monserrate, Gabi and Gui exchange their love and commitment, bringing everyone to tears.
Being in one of the most romantic places in the country, the bride and the groom took off with me, exploring Monserrate. As they walked around, all smiles, I was there to capture it all. No rehearsal, no poses. The first moments of their married life!
Then we went on an adventure. I thought it would be awesome, not to mention super dreamy, to have some pictures taken at sunset! Off we went to Praia da Ursa! It’s raw, bare and majestic. A view to die for! There are rock formations standing tall, receiving the power of the Atlantic Ocean.
It was a perfect place to capture all the love coming from Gabi and Gui!
